Much of the work of the Friends is day to day rather than major projects.
- We have been giving professional views and advice for Planning Applications for buildings both in the Square and the wider Conservation Area, as well as keeping an eye on the area. For example, the Friends are very pleased to see there is progress in bringing back abandoned and boarded up buildings in the Hamilton Square Conservation Area.
- The Friends are actively involved in initiatives that affect the Hamilton Square Conservation area, such as the ongoing Dock Branch Neighbourhood Park proposals; and the Woodside Redevelopment proposals.
- The Dacre Street site has been cleared, and may be suitable location for a local Community Garden.
- We updated our web site to be more approachable and useful as a source of local information and a place for local voices.
